This month has been wild at Coastal Strength & Fitness. We have had over 80 people reach out to the gym interested to learn more, and A LOT of past clients return.
Many commented on how they ultimately realized they struggle on their own and simply missed the coaches and were glad they are still all there!
It is rare in the fitness industry as there is a high turnover.
I also always notice an uptick in interest in the gym this time of year, I think a lot has to do with the weather warming up. 🙂
Here is your Fit Friday Focus:
1. Protein
Protein is an essential nutrient that our bodies need to function properly. It’s important for building and repairing muscles, supporting our immune system, and maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails.
We look over a lot of diet logs, and one thing that stands out is people are often under-eating protein. Then when they try to add more, it is a struggle.
If you’re looking to add more protein to your diet, try incorporating more lean meats, fish, eggs, greek yogurt, and cottage cheese. If you are vegan try Quorn products, tofu, and vegan protein powders.
2. Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the moment. It can help reduce stress, increase focus, and improve overall well-being. Here are a few tips to help you practice mindfulness:
- Take a few deep breaths and focus on your breath
- Notice your surroundings and engage your senses
- Practice gratitude by focusing on the things you’re thankful for
- Take a break from technology and social media
3. Habit Formation
Habit formation is the process of creating new habits that become automatic over time. It can be challenging to create new habits, but there are a few things you can do to make it easier:
- Start small and focus on one habit at a time
- Be consistent and practice the habit every day
- Use reminders or cues to help you remember to practice the habit
- Celebrate your progress and reward yourself for sticking to your habit
